Can Butt Toys Hurt You?
First off, sensual accessories for anal pleasure are perfectly safe to use when you take proper precautions. Anal sex and the accompanying pleasure are marvelous experiences that you should feel comfortable engaging in, whether it’s through penetration from a partner or a sensual aid.
That said, if you throw common sense to the wind, you’re taking great risks in your anal toy play.
A common avenue to anal mishap is the usage of anal toys without accompanying lubrication. We all know that the rectum, unlike the vagina, doesn’t produce its own lubricant, so when people use anal dildos and butt plugs while forgoing the lube, they’re only asking for trouble. There’s likely to be pain during penetration and there’s serious risk of injury due to friction.
Using anal dildos and other accessories without lubrication exposes you to the danger of tearing the rectum’s delicate tissue. If that happens, you’ve opened up an inviting vector through which STDs can be easily spread through your bloodstream. Not smart.
Some users of anal toys opt to apply a topical anesthetic to their anus to dull the pain of penetration. Again, not smart. Pain is the body’s way of warning you that something’s wrong. Riding a butt plug that’s too large for you to comfortably handle is virtually asking for tearing your rectal tissue or other anal injury.
Some folks, whether for bragging rights or shock value, like to take the dildo that’s come right out of their ass and perform oral on it. Dumb move. The fecal matter that’s in your rectum carries a host of nasty bacteria, so you’re asking for hepatitis or worse. The same applies to dildos that go straight from the ass to the vagina. It’s just stupid and dangerous.
Not to be anybody’s mom, but anal play with toys is supposed to be fun. Safe, too. Nobody’s going to have happy memories about their anal escapades if they have to have an anal abscess treated. So play safe, play smart, and you’ll have anal fun without having to worry.
